The word “homozygous” means the same alleles, and the word “heterozygous” means different alleles. It is important that the dominant trait should me symbolized as a capital letter, that way you can tell the difference. If there is a capital letter, the lowercase is a recessive trait that doesn’t show.
When you breed homozygous and heterozygous hamsters, you get four possible possibilities (in using a Punnet square). Those possibilities are BB, BB, Bb, and Bb. Notice that they all have capitals, so the offspring will all be black hamsters.
Genotypes:
BB: 50%
Bb: 50%
bb: 0%
Phenotypes:
Black Hamster Offspring: 100%
White Hamster Offspring: 0%
I hope this helps :)
