A circular sinkhole has a circumference of 75.35 meter. A week later, it has a circumference of 150.42 meters.

a.) Estimate the diameter of the sinkhole each week
b,) How many times greater is the diameter of sinkhole now compared to the previous week?


Please explain your anwser ( i  didn't understand the part about EACH WEEK)

[the length of a circumference is]=2*pi*r
r=[length of a circumference]/(2*pi)

Part a)
a.) Estimate the diameter of the sinkhole each week

Let
first week----------> previous week
second week-----> actual week (now)

for the first week
length=75.35 m
r=75.35/(2*pi)---------> r1=12 m
Diameter=2*r---------> D1=2*12---------> D1=24 m

for the second week
length=150.42 m
r=150.42/(2*pi)---------> r2=23.95 m
Diameter=2*r---------> D2=2*23.95---------> D2=47.90 m

Part b)
b,) How many times greater is the diameter of sinkhole now compared to the previous week?
[
diameter of sinkhole now compared to the previous week]=D2/D1
= 47.9/23.95----------> 2
