that should just double the extent of energy keeping it powered longer depending on the way you have your circuit if its set up a certain way it would drain the batteries faster while making the end of the circuit stronger ex. if its powering some sort of motor if could potentially make the motor work harder please let me know if this makes sense i can attempt to elaborate more if not. thank you

If the batteries are all in series, the the voltages and currents at every point in the circuit double, and the batteries run down in half of the normal time. If the batteries are all in parallel, then the voltages and currents don't change, but the batteries last twice as long.
