In Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Scrooge's nephew, Fred, likes Christmas because it is a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. Fred is a happy and optimistic person, and he enjoys the festivities and traditions of the holiday season. He is also a loving and generous person, and he takes pleasure in giving gifts and making others happy.
Fred's love for Christmas is evident in his words and actions. When he visits Scrooge on Christmas Eve, he greets him cheerfully and invites him to join him for Christmas dinner. He also tells Scrooge that Christmas is a time of "good will to men," and that it is a time to forget one's troubles and to focus on the joy and happiness of the season.
Furthermore, Fred's love for Christmas is also evident in his willingness to forgive and to extend kindness and compassion towards others. When Scrooge scoffs at Fred's Christmas cheer, Fred does not become angry or bitter. Instead, he simply replies, "I am sorry, with all my heart, to find you so resolute. We will not despair, however.
