- they did not pay taxes on reservation lands
- they were not citizens of the united states

Respuesta :

The correct answer is C) they did not pay taxes on reservation lands.

New Mexico denied Native Americans the right to vote on the grounds that they did not pay taxes on reservation lands.

Pueblo people in New Mexico did not pay taxes on their reservations. Probably that was a good thing but the problem was that they were not allowed to participate in elections. Pueblo people gained the right to vote in 1948. Pueblo people honored and respected their country till' the degree of having participated in World War I and World War II. So they also demanded the right to vote as any US citizen.
