television production. In the 1920s, silent film e comedy producer Hal Roach and Metro
Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) built studios there. Hundreds of movies have been produced on
the lots of Culver City's studios. These include The Wizard of Oze. The Thin Man e. Gone
with the Wind e. Citizen Kanee, Rebecca e, the Tarzan e series, and the original King
Konge. Many of these movies went on to win Oscars. Television shows made on Culver
City sets have included Cougar Town e. Mad About You e, Lassie, Batman e. Arrested
Development e. Jeopardy!e and the night version Wheel of Fortune. Since much of the
architecture has not changed in decades, particularly in residential areas of town, the
nostalgic sitcom The Wonder Years e set many of its outdoor scenes in the neighborhoods
