Two friends bought a packet of cucumber seeds. They argued that the seeds were not living. Here is what they said:
Katie:”I think they are alive in the sealed packet.”
Vaughan:”I don’t think they are alive until they are planted in the soil.

I would side with Katie.

Why?

Katie has a good hypothesis, and she is correct. The seeds are alive in the packet, because if one thing is living, it had to be alive before that to become living. Like a rebirth, almost. To make it more understandable, for something to be living, it had to first be alive to live, meaning it was never dead at any point in time.
