Standing committees in Congress are legislative panels present in the upper and lower houses. They are responsible for considering, approving, and authorizing government operations. Examples are Appropriations Committees and Budget Committees. 

The correct answer is the following:  Standing committees are committees that have a continued existence, formed to perform their duties on a permanent basis. The Congress of The United States has several standing committees, that perform diverse duties and functions. For example, there is the Agriculture committee, the Budget committee, Education and the Workforce, Homeland Security, Natural Resources, Foreign Affairs, and many others. All of these standing committees work on its area specifically.
