The Holocaust was the genocide of European Jews during World War II. Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi and its collaborators systematically murdered six million Jews. The Nazis believed that Germans were racially superior. They believed Jews were a threat to the so-called German racial community. While Jews were the primary victims, the Nazis also targeted other groups for persecution and murder.

The Holocaust has its direct cause, which is that the Nazis wanted to exterminate the Jews and that they were able to do so. Hitler blamed the Jews for everything that was wrong with the world. Germany was weak and in decline due to the 'Jewish influence'. According to Hitler, the Jews were after world dominance. Also, in times of unrest, Jews were often singled out as scapegoats. During the plague pandemic around 1350, Jews were expelled and persecuted.
