There are several events that can cause or may lead to deindustrialization of the economy.

Some of them are:

A steep decline in the manufacturing sector of the economy and moving towards the services sector of the economy. Apart from that deindustrialization occurs when the public is more interested in the imported goods coming into the country rather than consuming what the local manufacturers are producing. Moreover, when there is a trade deficit in nay country, then the only ficus of the country may tend towards how to convert that deficit into surplus of breakeven and hence, all the money which is supposed to be invested in the process of industrialization would then be used for the funding of the trade deficit.
