It seems like someone is angry at mankind because of there forceful and barbaric ways they say this because they have lived among them and seen what they are capable of and mankind can’t solve there problems in a civil manner.
Answer: We can look at clues in the excerpt to solve our problem. The first hint is "desperate, rejected, and angry young men". This part says that the narrator has seen many people who were overshadowed by society and stuck to themselves. Molotov cocktail and rifles are usually associated with violence, so that would be my best guess. My final thought is that the author is trying to say that young men who has been labelled an outcast have turned to violence, as they think it is their only option.
