High Fertility Rates in Africa

Some populations of the world, like Africa’s, have high fertility rates of over 7.0. The fertility rates are especially high in the Sub-Sahara regions like Niger in Africa because of various factors like social and personal factors, tropical climate, lack of general and reproductive health awareness etc.
Lack of general and reproductive health awareness among African men and women is the main reason for increased fertility rates in Africa.
They have little or no awareness of family planning, lack of knowledge of available birth control options like oral contraceptives, teenage pregnancy, poor knowledge of reproductive cycle and health, lack of amenities or centers for family planning, poor self hygiene, high infant mortality rate all lead to high fertility rate in Africa.
