DNA kinases are enzymes responsible for the regulation of many biological phenomena. By covalently attaching a phosphate group to its target (phosphorylation) a kinase is able to regulate a particular biological reaction. Kinases are virtually involved in almost every signal transduction pathway occurring in a living cell.

DNA ligases are commercially available. Optimally active in the range 45 to 80°C.  These enzymes are perfect for ligating adjacent oligonucleotides that are hybridized to the same target DNA. This property can be used for ligase chain reaction ,for mutational analysis, or for gene synthesis.
