If all the states in the US were to separate from the Union there would be several different consequences including:
1) A change in laws- All states that are part of the US have to follow the laws established in the US Constitution. However, if all the states left, they would rely on the state constitution as there only form of law.
2) Legal consequences- If an individual committed a crime in multiple states, it would make the legal process much more difficult if everyone was independent. Right now, a person that commits a crime in multiple states can be tried in a federal court. However, if all the states left, this would not be a possibility.

Answer:
1) Federal government has less power- If states decided to officially leave the US, they would no longer be under the rules/laws of the United States. Since this is the case, the federal government would have less control over the actions of these various states.
2) Creation of a new country- Just like during the Civil War, if states seceded they could form their own government/country with completely new laws.
