Well the main scale would start out at 2:10 since these are the 2 given numbers, now how we would break it down (or make it into its simplest form) would be by dividing both of the numbers by the same number, that would fit in..... soo
10 can be divided by 1, 2 and 5 evenly (5 is automatically canceled out since 2 can't evenly be divided by 5)
and 2 can be divided by 1 and 2 evenly ( but 2 divided by 1 =2) so we don't want that since it's wouldn't make it as small as we can
so that means the only other option would be 2
so 10/2= 5
and 2/2= 1
so the new ration would be 1:5
