Soil is important for the plants due to a variety of reasons. It is the soil that holds the plants in place and also provides the water necessary for continuing life. The soil also provides the plants with the necessary nutrients. It helps in the growth of the plants. The presence of food and water in the soil helps the plants to survive.
Soils contain a lot of minerals which are needed for plants. It also become the primary source of water for plants.

Furthermore, Soil is the one who hold the roots so the plants can survive a windy environment
