Respuesta :

The answer was true.  The early battles of the Civil War saw the North being beaten by the South. Without a victory, the South would separate from the Union and slavery would continue.  When aggressive generals like Ulysses Grant and William Tecumseh Sherman won victories for the Union, Lincoln realized these were the men he needed to win the war.  Both were intelligent and aggressive when battling the enemy.  It was through their efforts that won the war for the Union.
