Plautus is a writer of Roman tragedy (although his works supposedly contain comedic aspects). Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides were also very famous tragedians but they were all Greek writers.

Some of the first prominent pieces of the Roman tragedy and comedy were written by Livius Andronicus in 240 BC. Mostly, all Roman writers of the tragedy were influenced by the philosophical and political conceptions of Greek authors.
