The distance from Clarion to DuBois is 2 1/2 inches on the map. the actual distance is 40 miles. The distance from DuBois to Ridgeway is 1 1/2 inches on the map. What is the actual distance, in miles, from DuBois to Ridgeway?

Hello!

You have to find how many miles is 1 inch on the map

We can do this by doing 40 / 2 1/2 = 16

16 miles is equal to one inch

So we multiply this by 1 1/2

16 * 1 1/2 = 24

The answer is 24 miles
