Hey guys, I have been having some trouble with this question related to quadratic formulas. Its a 3 part question, but I only want the first part done, so I can do the rest. Here is the question:

3. A rocket is launched vertically from the ground with an initial velocity of 64 .
(a) Write a quadratic function h(t) that shows the height, in feet, of the rocket t seconds after it was launched.

t = time

the formula for distance in a given time is - 1/2gt^2 where g is the acceleration due to gravity which is 32 ft/sec^2
 so 1/2 of that would be -16t^2

 then you would want to add the velocity of the rocket times the amount of time which is 64t

 that gives the final equation as:  h(t) = -16t^2 + 64t

The accelerations is 32 ft/sec^21/2 of that is -16t^2
Next you want to add the velocity which is 64t
The answer is  h(t) = -16t^2 + 64t
