The ego abides by the reality principle. Sigmund Freud developed a theory of psychic consciousness, the postulate that we are governed by 3 psychic entities that are antagonistic between them and create a conflict, the result of that conflict is what defines our behavior. The ego is the second psychic instance, it is the entity of which we are aware and we consider our own identity, it serves as an intermediary between the other two entities, the Id and the Superego.

I hope my answer can help you.

Answer:

Personality Principle

Freud discusses how one’s urges or desires may incline them to commit a crime.

Id: Id describes the immediate fulfillment of one’s urges and the impulse one’s desires has on their unconscious actions.

Ego: The immediate gratification that gives one the pleasure without the pain.

Super ego: An unethical or immoral individual is more inclined to act upon their desires. Our criminal actions are dependent on what we see as moral and if we consider the consequences or not.
