Question 2 Unsaved
A volcano in the approximate shape of a cone has a diameter of 16 km and a height of 1.95 km.

Which estimate best approximates the volume of the volcano? Use 3.14 for pi and round to nearest whole number.

Respuesta :

Cone's volume:
V=(π×r²×h)/3
(where h is height = 1.95 km,r is radius and π≈3.14)
D=2×R ⇒ R=D/2=16/2=8 km

We have everything we need, so let's find the volume:
V=(3.14×8²×1.95)/3≈(391.872)/3≈130.624≈131 (km³)

Answer is: 131 km³
