A dissolved solute consist of SUB-MICROSCOPIC ATOMS OR MOLECULES.
A solute is a substance that is dissolved in a particular solvent. The solvent and the solute together make up the solution. The nature of the solute that is dissolve will determine whether the submicroscopic particles will be atoms or molecules. If the solute is an element for instance, the submicroscopic particles will be atoms, but if is a compound, then it will be molecules.
