To solve this we are going to use the formula for the volume of a elliptical cylinder: [tex]V= \pi ABh[/tex]
where
[tex]V[/tex] is the volume of the cylinder in cubic centimeters
[tex]A[/tex] is the measure of the major semiaxis
[tex]B[/tex] is the measure of the minor semiaxis
[tex]h[/tex] is the altitude of the cylinder

We know for our problem that [tex]A=6[/tex], [tex]B=5[/tex], [tex]h=12[/tex], and [tex] \pi =3.14[/tex]. Lets replace those values in our formula to find [tex]V[/tex]:
[tex]V= \pi ABh[/tex]
[tex]V=(3.14)(6)(5)(12)[/tex]
[tex]V=1130.4cm^3[/tex]

We can conclude that the volume of our cylinder with elliptical base is 1130.4 cubic centimeters
