Hydrazoic Acid also called Hydroge Azide has a chemical formula HN₃. It is synthesized by reacting sodium azide NaN₃ with HCl as,
NaN₃ + HCl → NaCl + HN₃
This compound is very sensitive to spark, shock and friction. If such conditions are applied then HN₃ decomposes as follow,
2 HN₃ → H₂ + 3 N₂
And this type of reactions are often used in Car Air Bags. :)
