This finding poses a problem primarily for the James-Lange theory of emotion.
According to James and Lange, what happens first is the physiological reaction (something within your body happens first), and then it is followed by an emotional reaction. As you can see in the case above, this is not true here, because Bob doesn't feel much physical sensation due to his injury, however, he can feel the same emotions nevertheless.
