When multiplying fractions, you just multiply the numerators together and the denominators together, then simplify your answer:
[tex] \frac{6}{9} \times \frac{3}{8} = \frac{18}{72} [/tex]
Divide the both the numerator and the denominator by 18 to obtain the simplified answer:
[tex] \frac{1}{4} [/tex]
Alternatively, you could have started off by simplifying 6/9 to 2/3 (÷3) at the start, so you could deal with smaller numbers during the multiplication process. You'd get the same answer, but would probably just be able to figure it out more quickly:
[tex] \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{3}{8} = \frac{6}{24} [/tex]
Divide the numerator and denominator by 6:
[tex] \frac{6}{24} = \frac{1}{4} [/tex]
