A suspect classification is one that "treats people differently because of a classification such as race; laws that include suspect classifications are subject to strict scrutiny".
In American statute, a suspect classification is any order of gatherings meeting a progression of criteria recommending they are likely the subject of segregation. These classes get nearer examination by courts when an Equal Protection guarantee affirming illegal segregation is attested against a law, control, or other government activity, or once in a while private activity.
