The origin of the Sartorius muscle is from the anterior superior iliac spine.

Sartorius muscle is long, superficial, thin muscle running down the length of the thigh in the anterior compartment and is the longest muscle of the human body. The Sartorius muscle is supplied by nerves from the femoral nerve.

The Sartorius muscle is a synergist muscle as it is capable of moving the knee and the hip joint but the actions are weak.
