So, the Ottomans did not want to enter WW1, but they were forced to, so they sided with Germany. At the same time, the sultans were playing around with money.

The Ottomans lost the war. A treaty was created. They said that Turkey was not allowed to dig for oil until 2022. Also, it must remain a non-muslim country until 2022.

They put Ataturk (Mustafa Kemal) in charge. The muslim Ottoman Empire, which lasted for more than 600 years, was taken over by Europeans. Their arabic language was changed to latin letters.
