Due to the opposition of the Irreconcilable, the Treaty of Versailles was never ratified by Congress, and the United States never became a member of the .... and all it takes is ONE major conflict of a NATO member state, in order to draw the USA into a total war that geographically it would have otherwise played no part in.

it was the first point in american history that we became world police. we essentially ended a war with this treaty and forced Germany to give up all their land captured in the war as well as pay for all damages to other countries. which in turn started WWII.
