President Woodrow Wilson's goal for a post World War I society were different than Britain and France because Wilson did not want to punish Germany for World War I.
At the meeting in Versailles, France called for severe punishments for Germany after their actions during World War I. This included a reduced military, reparations, and taking full responsibility for the war. Britain wanted to punish Germany, however they want Germany still strong enough to trade with Britain. The US did not want to punish Germany at all. Rather, Wilson wanted to develop an international organization with several different countries called the League of Nations. This organization would help to prevent future wars.
