Nixon's foreign policy revolved around the idea of Vietnamization. During his presidency, the US was still heavily involved in the Vietnam War. However, American sentiment (feeling) towards this war was that it was dragging on and many citizens did not see the purpose in having American soldiers there anymore. This is when Nixon starts the policy of Vietnamization. This revolves around the US military training the Southern Vietnamese how to have military success against the Viet Cong and the Northern Vietnamese army.

Domestically, Nixon focused heavily on having the government help to protect the environment. Under his presidency the Environmental Protection Agency was created. This government agency was made to protect the environment and the life within it. Through this agency, laws relating to ensuring clean air and protecting endangered species were put into place.
