Nature Imagery is a way of writing poetry that appeals to the elements in the natural environment.

Nature Imagery refers to the speaker's use of words or figures that involve elements of nature (Leaves, trees, mountains, flowers, etc.) with the purpose of creating a vivid mental picture by aiming to any of our five senses (Hearing, taste, touch, smell, and sight).

A good example of the use of nature imagery is found in the following poem Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.
