In George Washington's Farewell Address, he left our new nation with advice. His focus was on how we should remain a unified nation that focuses on the greater good of all rather than selfish desires of personal gain and that we stay out conflict amongst other nations since we were still recovering from war ourselves and couldn't stand to loose the reputation we had just fought so hard for in The Revolutionary War.
