Hi there!
Sounds confusing, I know.

But let me try to explain.
First we need to subtract the discount from the total.

1099.99- 42%= 637.99

So, 637.99 is our new total, but wait!
We have to add the SALES TAX!! That’s kind of important. ; )

Okay so now let’s take our new total and then add the tax.

637.99+ 6.5%= 679.45

And... there we have it. $679.45 for that beautiful flat screen tv.
Looks like the Bowen’s are in for some big savings! Maybe they can buy those golf clubs after all...
