A relief package is released form a helicopter at 1600 feet. The height of the package can be modeled by h=16t^2 + 1600, where h is the height of the package in feet and t is the time in seconds. The pilot wants to know how long it will take for the for the package to hit the ground.

a. Write the equation
b. solve the equation

Respuesta :

The equation is h(t) = -16t2 + 1600
When the package hits the ground, h(t) = 0: 0 = -16t2 + 1600 To solve by factoring: 0 = -16(t2-100)0 = -16(t+10)(t-10) t = -10 and +10 seconds.

Since we aren't interested in negative time, t = 10 seconds.
Hello there!
To answer this question you will jave to do the following steps:
Steps:
0 = -16(t2-100)0
 = -16(t+10)(t-10) t =
-10 and +10 seconds.

So the answer would be:
Answer:  t=10
                 or
              t=10 sec

Hoping this helsp you!
