You can really say that the country almost became an empire due to the fact that it has a huge military strength. However, thanks to the various methods of trading that the United States has when it comes to the industry, they were able to create a very large empire consisting of various investors and corporations. These deal with various countries in order to sustain the economic growth of the country, while at the same time benefiting the other countries.

The US was never quite separate from the remainder of the world. Trade made the US an effective part of world events. It was through the period of the 1890 that the US international policy shifted affected by colonialism. During that decade, the US grew the most major mechanical power in the world. That meant we had to find shops and fields to obtain raw materials. Patronage was also looking at other areas in the world as possible consumers for our products.
