At first early human beings had to rely on hunting and gathering
in order to survive. During this period
they were able to identify some plants that can be edible. They were also able to learn how to use traps
to capture animals. Through their
hunting and gathering, they eventually learned how to plant and how to gather
animals and raise them in one spot. In
time, they were able to raise enough plants and animals for their needs that
some of these early humans can now settle in one area rather than roam the land
in search of food. Eventually these
small groups would grow in number and from a small family, you now have large
population living in one place and that is how towns began.
