total cost of movie tickets = 4x
total cost of snacks = 4 (3.50)
total cost = 44

TC of movie tickets + TC of snacks = 44
4x + 4(3.5) = 44
4x + 14 = 44
4x = 44 - 14
4x = 30
4x / 4 = 30 / 4
x = 7.50 cost of movie ticket
