zeus had an affair with another woman in which heracles was made, hera was furious and tryed to kill heracles many times. zeus loved heracles and heracles means glory to hera, it was a butt kissing type of thing, but hera aggred she would allow him as one of them if he performed and completed the tasks in which he became a god, and was given the job to guard an entrance which lead to a river god.
