If you mean the x-intercept then you put the equation into standard form (Ax + By = C)
The very first thing is to make the parentheses ( _ , 0) since we are finding the x-intercept and not the y-intercept (when finding the y-imtercept the 0 would be in the x coordinates place).
Cover up with your finger the By or the y variable with it's associated number so that it reads the Ax = C (of course with your own numbers) since it will be multiplying the y variable by 0.
Next, divide whatever the number A is from X and divide it from the other side of the equation sign (or C).
The number that x will equal will be what you put in the blank space of the coordinate
[ex. (4, 0) ].
