Asian Geography

The Middle East is a region that covers the vast majority of West Asia and Egypt (which belongs mainly to North Africa).

The borders of the Middle East are not strictly defined, they differ by historical period and vary according to the ethnological, cultural, or geopolitical point of view. As a rule, however, they include the Arabian Peninsula and countries around the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf.

In turn, South Asia is a term used to represent the southern region of the Asian continent. Topographically it is dominated by the Indian plate, while the altitude rises sharply from Nepal and the northern parts of India south of the Himalayas and the Hindu Kush.
