The main goal of the United Nations is to keep peace throughout the world and when North Korea threatens a “declaration of war” for any criticism of their nuclear security summit meeting, it causes countries like the United States to really question what to do in a situation like this one. Another goal of the United Nations is to develop friendly relations among nations, but when you have a command economy and dictatorship like we see in North Korea, it isn’t the easiest to just develop friendly relations with them. It contradicts the goals of the United Nations to harm North Korea, but countries want to protect their citizens. I think the United Nations should address the issue in North Korea by possibly doing what they can to reach out to them and settle some sort of agreement with nuclear weapons or talk with other nations about what we can do if North Korea ever did nuke us or another country.
