Two patterns start at 0. The rule for the first pattern is add 1. The rule for the second pattern is add 3. Write ordered pairs using the corresponding terms from each pattern. Then graph the ordered pairs.

Respuesta :

The description of these patterns are the descriptions of a linear equation ( which is graphed as a line ).

Forst pattern: y = x
Second pattern : y = 3x

Now to graph these equations we first need to find the y-intercept which is both 0 (0, 0)

Mark a point at zero , then we have to find the slope which is 1 in the first equation and 3 in the second:

For the first equation , ( start from your y intercept which is (0, 0) ) go 1 unit up and 1 to the right and mark a point there. Do the same thing until you reached the end of the graph or so. Now cross a line along these points and that's your line

Now for the second equation is basicaly the same as the first , but as the slope of it is 3 , it will go ( from the y-intercept) up 3 units and right 1 unit. Mark your point and cross those points with a line.

That's it !
