Karen measured her height as 147 cm. Karen’s actual height is 142 cm. What is the approximate percent error of Karen’s measurement?

tell me how you got it thanks

Respuesta :

3.4% if you do the (new-old) divided by old, multiplied by 100

To find the percentage error , we divide the difference of the readings by the correct reading and then multiply by 100.

Here the actual height of Karen is 142 cm

But the height measures was 147 cm.

The difference in the measures is 147-142= 5 cm

Now the error = 5 cm

So error percentage

= [tex] \frac{5}{142}(100) [/tex]

= 3.5%

The approximate percent error of Karen’s measurement is 3.5%
