GAS or general adaptation syndrome refers to a three-stage response, which the body has to go through after getting exposed to stress. The three stages are alarm reaction, resistance, and exhaustion. After a lengthened duration of strain, the body moves into the ultimate phase of GAS called the exhaustion stage.
