It can be a good thing to not have them married because if they die then that would devastate the wife and if they had kids that would devastate them. Sometimes, people that are in relationships close their choices more on emotions, so it might be a good thing so they'd think more logically which could save their life.
Although there are many reasons why some people say this is a bad thing, I'm not taking sides. I'm just saying on side of the argument, I just chose one because I never really had an idea on the topic.
