x=15
a) 4x = 6x - 14

What you need to do here is to isolate x in one side of the equation only. You can do that by subtracting 6x from both sides of the equation:

4x - 6x = 4x - 4x - 14
4x - 4x cancel out so we end up with
-2x = - 14
Now jist divide both sides by -2 so x can be alone !
-2/-2x = -14/-2
x = 7

b) 3x + 5 = 50

You want to do the same thing here , isolate x from the other terms ! You can do that by subtracting 5 from both sides of the equation:

3x + 5 - 5 = 50 - 5

5 - 5 cancel out , so we end up with
3x = 45

Now just divide both sides of the equation by 3
so x is isolated:
3/3x = 45/3
x = 15

Awnser :
a) x = 7
b) x = 15

I hope you understood my brief explanation
And please consider marking this as the Branliest awnser if you think it deserves! Thank you. :)
