The table shows us this only 2 different informations :
1) x and y have a direct proportion ( This one is very important )
2) When x = 14 , y = 21
As x and y are proportional to each other we can set their proportion by dividing one by another : 21(which is y ) ÷ 14 ( which is x )
21 ÷ 14 = 3/2
The proportion of y to x is 3/2
Y will always be 3/2 of x
And x will always be 2/3 of y
Now that we know their proportions , we can discover the missing parts of the table by applying the proportion:
If we have x but y is missing , just multiply x by 3/2 to find y !
If we have y but x is missing , just multiply y by 2/3 to find x !
Missing parts:
x = 64 y = 3/2x
y= 96
x = 2/3y y =39
x = 78/3 x= 26
x = 1 y= 3/2x
y = 3/2
Solved table :
|x, | y,
|14, | 21,
|64, | 96,
|26, | 36,
|1, | 3/2,
|0, | 0,
